Vogh hears the driver mutter under his breath as he snaps the reins and rumbles away, “Cheap richies. No tip. Blech!”

Vogh, rolled 20 using 1d20+5.  Listen.

No one answers the door so Vogh final tries the latch and the door opens. Inside stairs go up and down from the landing the stand on. Six doors in total. Vogh checked the paper and the address included #6. She climbed the stairs on knocked on the door with a six.

Ilsandrin opens the door a crack with a clearly worried look on her face. Seeing Vogh she looks over and sees Talin and relaxes. Ilsandrin has a narrow, pretty face, with long golden hair and sharp gray eyes. She was wearing modest garments but sports numerous rings. Vogh can tell by the looks of them they are fake precious metals and stones, just for show.

Vogh, rolled 22 using 1d20+7.  Appraise.

“Hello. I’m Ilsandrin. Are you Vogh? I’ve been expecting you. Last night a messenger arrived from House Kath letting me know you would be coming. Thank you so much for helping to protect me. And you are?”

She shakes Vogh’s hand in the delicate and feminine palm down method, then extends her hand flat to Talin as she asks.

He answers with his name and explained he’s here to assist with her protection as well.

“Well thank you. Both of you. Well met and welcome to my home. Would you care from some tea?”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
When Vogh heard the driver say what he said, Vogh made a mental note to do something about it next time they ride with him.  Entering the building after figuring there were more than one room, Vogh knocks and Ilsandrin answers after a second or so.

Sitting down now and the introductions complete and tea offered, Vogh answers politely with a yes please.  They have some light talk before Vogh asks about this person that is messing with her.  What has been done to keep the man away from you thus far?  We want to make sure we aren’t repeating failures in your protection.

This message was last edited by the GM at 12:29, Fri 28 Apr 2017.

===========================================================
Ilsandrin
———————————————————–
“Very little. The security at the theater is very simple. Mostly older men just trying to earn coin by telling people they can’t go into certain places. This guy has been leaving me threatening notes along with gifts. I’m so thankful house Kath is willing to help.”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
The lack of security of any kind had Vogh wondering, why?  These people who came to perform needed protection form extreme fans.  What if there were fights and such.  Perhaps a visit to the city garrison would do some help to at least have a patrol check in now and again.  The company itself though would be responsible for the security of their people.

House Kath will always look after their proteges.  You are quite welcome.

Vogh gets a good description of the man causing the problems.  When will we be leaving for the Crown Theater?

===========================================================
Ilsandrin
———————————————————–
“I have a performance tonight. I will likely head over around 18th hour and I should go on around 20th hour.”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Very well then.  Have you ever seen him along the road to the Theater?  Or has he always just arrived there?  Vogh asked.

Do you happen to know the man’s name?

===========================================================
Ilsandrin
———————————————————–
“Sadly i do not. He always signs his letters and notes with Your Biggest Fan. He has shown himself a couple times on the street or near the audience doors but as soon as i see him he always disappears as soon as i make eye contact.”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Feeling she had enough information Vogh asked the girl, so what is your specialty for music?  If you wouldn’t mind a preview Talin and I would welcome the music while we wait to go.

===========================================================
Ilsandrin
———————————————————–
“Oh. i would love to. But I’m supposed to save my voice before a performance night. You will attend the show tonight though, right? My specialty is opera. I didn’t know i had a knack for it untill House Kath found me and started tutoring me. Now I love it!”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Ah I hadn’t realized that was your talent.  I understand fully that you need to rest your voice for your performance that we will assuredly be watching.  How else are we going to keep an eye on you?  Vogh giggled as she said the last part.

Is there anything you would like to do before your performance this evening?  Not ure if you have been cooped up and want to just get out or not.  It is raining though and you may not want to risk getting sick.  Vogh inquires.

===========================================================
Ilsandrin
———————————————————–
“Thank you. I have been a bit cooped up, but I don’t want to do anything since there is only a few hours until I perform. I will rest a bit and then we can head over.”

===========================================================
Narrator
———————————————————–
A few hours passed with little for Vogh and Talin to do. The rain continued to pour down outside, splattering against the apartment window.

Finally Ilsandrin came from her room and said she was ready to go. She was wearing the same clothes as before and explained she would get dressed and ready at the Theater.

She threw a heavy cloak over herself and tall pair of boots to keep out the rain.

“The theater is right around the corner. Which you probably already know. Sorry. We can go down the alley instead of the main road to get there faster. I haven’t felt safe enough to do that recently.”

This message was last edited by the GM at 23:12, Sat 29 Apr 2017.

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
When Ilsandrin came through the door and said she was ready, Vogh rose to her feet.  If it is faster we shall take it then to have as little rain fall on us as possible.

She looked to Talin, would you like to go first and I can go behind Ilsandrin to protect her best if something happens?

===========================================================
Narrator
———————————————————–
Talin was happy to comply and with his cloak pulled over, but left open for easy access to his weapons, they strode out the door and down the alley into the rear entrance of the Cloud easily and without opposition.

Ilsandrin was visibly relieved as they shut and locked the exterior door behind them. She lead them to a dressing room with several lockers. Opening one she retrieved a series of garments and moved into the changing room to prepare.

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Once in Ilsandrin’s room Vogh asks, so where would it be best for us to be to see this man?  Does he have a pattern in which he stays somewhere in the auditorium?

===========================================================
Ilsandrin
———————————————————–
“He’s done a little of everything, but not consistently. He’s appeared in the hallways here. He’s been in the back of the audience. He’s followed me on the road. He was in the alley once and I ran away.”

She sighs frustratedly and apologizes for not being more help.

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Vogh pats Ilsandrin on the shoulder as she explain in frustration the man’s lack of pattern.  It is okay, we will just ensure that you are well taken care of.  Leave that up to us and you just sing your heart out!

Before Ilsandrin is ready to go out, Vogh has Talin check outside first before having and completely check backstage before leading her to the stage.  From there they stay close to the stage on the side so they can see the audience.

===========================================================
Narrator
———————————————————–
Ilsandrin came out to a light applause as the curtains were pulled back by men other side of the stage pulling heavy ropes.

Her performance was wonderful and the light applause was a roar at the end. She really did have a wonderful voice and it was clear why House Kath wanted her in their stable of performers.

The curtain fell without incident, but when they all returned to Ilsandrin’s room there was a large bouquet of flowers with a note.

You’ve spurned my advances for too long. We are meant to be together. We must be together. Don’t make me do something we both regret. I love you. Signed, Your One True Love

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
When the trio gets back to Ilsandrin’s room and find the flowers and note, Vogh looks to Talin, looks like things just got more serious.  Vogh looks to anyone that was backstage with Ilsandrin was performing and asks them if the saw someone enter her room?

Vogh will go around asking everyone if the saw anyone matching a description she gives them of the man or anyone that went inside.

===========================================================
Narrator
———————————————————–
One stage hand said he pointed someone in the direction of her dressing room because he had flowers he wanted to deliver. The description matched what Vogh had already been told.

Talin was unable to find anyone else who saw the man or notice anything suspicious.

10:35, Today: DM, on behalf of Vogh, rolled 23 using 1d20+7 ((16)).

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Well, looks like he is trying to evade us.  Has he left flowers before?  And have you seen him after?  You would think there would be something else to it.  You didn’t avoid him this time so it doesn’t make sense to me.  Vogh said.

===========================================================
Ilsandrin
———————————————————–
“He approached me in the beginning and I polietely brushed him off. Then he approached me a couple more times and each time I got more forceful. The last time I screamed and he ran away. I’m not sure what he wants from me now…”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Well, I think what I would like to do is just stay by your side for a while and we can figure this out together.

She looks to Talin, sweetie, I would love for you to join me in this adventure, but I also don’t want to keep you from what you were doing at the Minstrel.  I am sure they are wondering where you have been.  I will leave the choice up to you.  Know that I want you by my side though.

===========================================================
Talin
———————————————————–
OOC: I SWEAR I wrote something about him going to check in at the Minstrel and telling them he couldn’t play this night. What happened to that? haha 🙁

“It has been two nights. I don’t want to wind up losing my spot. Let me run over and play some tonight if they haven’t already replaced me. I will come to Ilsandrin’s home in the morning”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Together they walk Ilsandrin to her apartment and then Talin heads off to the Minstrel leaving the two women for the night.

With just the two women home now, Vogh makes it a point to get to know this woman a little better.  It gets late finally and Vogh ensures that the doors and windows are locked before heading to bed herself.

===========================================================
Narrator
———————————————————–
The night passes uneventfully and Talin knocks on the door mid-morning.

When Vogh lets him in she asks about his night at the Minstrel and he says it was alright but since he got started late he didn’t earn as much coin. Drunk don’t tip as much as the earlier patrons.

Nevertheless, he’s happy to be back here and doing something more exciting.

Talin inquires if anything happened in the night and when the ladies informed him nothing had he was happy. Mostly because he didn’t miss any action.

“Well Vogh, what do we do next to catch this guy?”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Ilsandrin, when is your next performance?  Vogh asks trying to figure out a plan.

Also, do you go outside at all lately?  If not then how do you eat and such?

===========================================================
Ilsandrin
———————————————————–
“I do not leave except to go to the theater for fear of running into him again. I cook here. House Kath has made sure I had enough food and drink supplied. I will not be performing tonight, but the following night.”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
So, we go tomorrow to the theater and we will have a different plan laid out this time.

When you head to the stage, one of us will be in your dressing room while the other keeps an eye on you.  I will speak to all the backstage people to tell them if anyone comes matching his description and wants to go to the dressing room to point him in the right direction and to get whomever is watching you.  Vogh explains.

We will also tell who ever is working the front, that if they see the man come in to notify us.

===========================================================
Narrator
———————————————————–
Talin heads out early that evening to head to the Minstrel and returns the following morning once again with a few hot breakfast pastries for the ladies.

“I figured you would like a treat of something  you didn’t have to cook yourself.”

The three prepare that evening and head out to the Theater once more.

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Vogh smiled at the thought from Talin.  He was a sweet man and tasty too!!  The day past and when it was time to go Vogh asked to leave a little earlier so that she could do all the things she mentioned she would do.

===========================================================
Narrator
———————————————————–
The duo went down the same alley, minus the precipitation, and entered the theater. They headed straight for the room where Ilsandrin changed. Talin stayed with her while Vogh went around to everyone, sharing her plan to help the singer be rid of the annoying, and possibly dangerous, “fan.”

When she returned Talin asked, “I would like to be the one to remain in the room. I prefer to put myself in danger than have you here. You can keep a look out and come to my aid if necessary.”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Having completed telling everyone the description of the man bugging Ilsandrin, Vogh returned to the changing room.

When Talin pulled her aside and told her that he would rather be the one put in danger it warmed her heart.  How could she ask this of him.  He wasn’t a part of the house and this was just a mission for him.  For her it was much more than that.  She could see the look of determination in his eyes though and so she put her hand to his tricep and caressed it and said, you are so kind to me my love.  I will come as quick as I hear anything.

If something happened to him, she would hate herself for a long time!

With that everyone took their place…..

===========================================================
Narrator
———————————————————–
Vogh had her eyes peeled as Ilsandrin worked through a new song she hadn’t heard during the previous performance. Her voice echoed beautifully through the building. Her operatic vibrato was incredible. Ilsandrin had amazing breath and voice control. It was a wonder she was simply performing at low priced dives before house Kath found her. Thank goodness for their talent scouts. There was no reason to let talent like this go to wa….

Vogh’s head shot up as she recognized the man at the back of the Theater, standing by the doors captibated by Ilsandrin’s performance…

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Having spotted the man that was basically terrorizing Ilsandrin, Vogh slides into the shadows and slinks back to the dressing room while Ilsandrin continues to give it all on the stage.

Vogh opens the door as she calls to Talin, He is out front we need to get out there.

===========================================================
Narrator
———————————————————–
Talin jumps up from his seat and follows her lead.

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
As they leave the room she tells him to head to the front from the left and she will go from the right.  Don’t give it away that you are in a hurry either it may scare him.

===========================================================
Narrator
———————————————————–
They moved from backstage beneath the balcony overhangs up the aisle. Both moved as inconspicuously as possible, but Talin could not keep his eyes off the man.

Vogh knew Talin was made as the man spun and quickly moved out of the doors into the lobby and quickly moved through the doors out onto the street.

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Vogh saw the recognition by the man and as soon as he began to run, Vogh took up the chase.  Waving to Talin across the way.

===========================================================
Narrator
———————————————————–
The back half of the theater seemed to turn at the two armed individuals beginning to run down the aisles.

The two, aged ushers stood to reprimand them but the duo blew past them and out the doors before the older men even got a word out.

Talin and Vogh each went out a separate door  and slid on the rain slick landing. A light drizzle had coated everything. They looked left and right then noticed the bearded man look over his shoulder back at them and pick up his already brisk pace.

They took the steps two at a time until they reached the equally slick street. They both began to run full out after the man. Only a few long strides in, their boots slipped out from beneath both them and they hit the ground.

DM rolled 9,7 using 1d20+5,1d20+5.  Vogh, Talin Balance.

DC 10 to stay up at a run.

DM rolled 23,16 using 1d20+12,1d20+12.  Vogh, Talin Tumble.

Vogh rolled with the fall and somersaulted back up onto her feet as Talin less gracefully rolled and stood to increase their chase once more.

The obviously older man was not as fleet of foot or fast as they. Quickly they halved the distance and were closing fast with the speed walking man.

As Vogh and Talin passed an alley off Dragon Street they heard a young woman’s scream rip through the air.

Vogh’s sharp eyes saw down the alley as they sprinted by that two men were attacking a young woman who went down with arms and feet flailing on the hard stones of the alleyway.

DM rolled 20,12 using 1d20+1,1d20+1.  Vogh, Talin Spot.

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
ooo you had to do it didn’t you!

Vogh almost stopped in her tracks when she heard the scream.  As she sped after the man she looked down an alley and saw what had caused it.  The woman now on the ground with the two men over her, Vogh called down the alley to the men in a sing song voice while pulling her blade out of her scabbard.  As the blade exited the scabbard it took up the melody that Vogh had given.

Vogh sped down the alley towards the men.

===========================================================
Narrator
———————————————————–
*Maniacal Laughter!

Talin heard the scream as well but didn’t see what his partner had. He slid to a stop looking at the man escaping and looking at his partner draw blade and charge down an alley.

Figuring she knew a short cut he trusted her and charged after as well.

DM rolled 21,24 using 1d20+3,1d20+7.  Vogh, Talin Initiative.

Round 1:

Initiative:

Talin 24
Vogh 21
BG 6

Talin shouts out as his sword clears its scabbard, “They are pale dogs! Kill them!”

I’ll let you control Talin until I understand him a bit better. I’m setting him up as a charter and assigning to you.

You know the Pale Dogs are a group of mostly young men who usually terrorize the already dangerous Warrens. Each of these two bears the double-finger ring of the gang as well as the
trademark black-painted fingernails.

The two attackers are little more than boys wearing cobbled together leather armor, none of which was made for them and few pieces match. One carries a club and the other a rusted short sword.

Vogh

Vogh rushes to the two men and tells them, sit down and you won’t be hurt,  Vogh doesn’t know what Talin did, but his music was eerie.

Seeing the men already dropped their weapons she kicks them away from them.  She grabs her rope and begins to tie them up.

They both cower as Vogh wraps the rope around them.

The young woman stands up. “Oh by the gods thank you!”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Finished with tying up the two thugs, Vogh looks to the woman.  What are you doing out here at this time?

Vogh looked over to Talin whom had calmed down now.  The man showed her something she hadn’t seen before.  A darker side to him than she had known.  She would ask him about this when they were alone again.

===========================================================
Phon
———————————————————–
“I had to work late tonight and I was just heading home.”

The young woman says breathlessly. She is a rather attractive thing. Slight of frame but curvaceous as most man seem to be drawn toward. Her soaked and matted hair is disheveled but long and curly brown.

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
How far do you live from here?  Vogh asked…  If it isn’t too far we could escort you, but we have pressing business to attend to.

Then Vogh thinks a bit more, Or Talin can makes sure you get home safely and I can return to the theater to watch our ward.  What do you think Talin?

===========================================================
Talin
———————————————————–
“Since the necrolover escaped I’ll take this one home and meet you back at the theater. Don’t leave her dressing room until I return. Then we can both take Ilsandrin back to her apartment.”

===========================================================
Phon
———————————————————–
“Who escaped? Oh I’m so sorry. But thank you both so much for saving me. What are you going to do about these two…?” She points to the tied up pale dogs.

===========================================================
Pale Dogs
———————————————————–
“Ya betta let us go, or ya gonna be sorry!”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Okay Talin, I will stay at the dressing room.  On the way I am going to find some authorities to hand these two over to.  The city watch should enjoy having them.  He remarks to the two sitting down and the woman.

With that she roughly pulls up the two youth and begins to push them out to the main street and head back towards the theater.  If there aren’t any city watch along the way she will bring them to the theater and have them send a runner to get someone.

===========================================================
Talin
———————————————————–
“Ha. If they even care. Small fish like this they will probably just let go.”

He huffs and heads off leading the very shaken up Phon.

As Talin and the young woman move off the bigger of the two dogs speak up to Vogh.

“Hey. Lady. Your man’s right. They just gonna let us go and you got nothing. Help us slit that phillies throat and we give ya good gold!”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
When the bigger of the two says his peace, Vogh looks to him and says, My man didn’t say anything about letting you go.  Perhaps you don’t know me well enough, I would rather slit your throat and leave you to the real dogs of the alley than just let you go.  So unless you want to lose your tongue right now I would keep that large mouth of yours closed.

===========================================================
Pale Dogs
———————————————————–
The other stutters as he speaks up, clearly afraid, but desperate.

“A hunnerd gold if you kill her! Not chump coins here lady! Real, good, solid gold if you help us make her dead!”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
You don’t have no 100 gold coins waif.  All this talk has me wondering.
All this talk of coin being tossed around, Vogh stops and begins to search their bodies to see what they have.  Perhaps she will just get the gold from them and still turn them in.

===========================================================
Pale Dogs
———————————————————–
“Eh! That ain’t right! Robbin’ us while we tied! We ain’t got all o it on us. We was to be paid after we killed her! You kill her, or help us kill her and we’ll take you to get all the reward. We won’t take any as payment for you letting us go.”

Vogh is able to find 10 gold on each dog.

Yes tied with hand behind backs sorry lol.

Vogh will also be on the lookout for anyone of the group from the Sisterhood of Silence.  They would find these two interesting especially with the crime they were about to commit.

===========================================================

Shortly after she stole their money and gagged them they decided to make a break for it.

Each ran in an opposite direction headed for the nearest alley away from the other.

Vogh
———————————————————–
Where are we on the map.  I have it pulled up on the site and see the crown theater.

Since I have 1 rope and I didn’t cut it they would be tied together and I would be holding a piece so it would be difficult for them to run different directions.  I know you took liberty at lack of description so I am clarifying more.  Now they certainly can run together, but they wouldn’t get far with me on the other end of the rope.

===========================================================

You are correct on all the above.

Then they would just try to strength check break away from you. They rolled a 9 so not looking good.

Vogh made sure the boys were taken care of before heading back to the dressing room.

===========================================================
Ilsandrin
———————————————————–
Ilsandrin was fit to be tied when Vogh knocked on the locked door. She opened it a crack and peeked out. The woman threw the door open and resumed pacing.

“WHERE DID YOU GO?!?! YOU ABANDONED ME UP THERE! I almost couldn’t finish my show I was panicking so bad!

Ilsandrin was pacing and practically panting for breath.

Vogh
———————————————————–
Vogh talked soothingly with a slight tinge of melody to her voice to calm the spirits of the woman.  When I was peering out to the audience I spotted the man.  I went back to get Talin and we went to the front to catch the man.  He spotted Talin and ran outside.  We took up the chase, but lost him in the rain.

Talin should be back shortly though.  I am here now though.  Can I get you something?

Heading to bed now!

===========================================================
Narrator
———————————————————–
NO! you quitter! 😀

Ilsandrin calms down with each word Vogh speaks and finally sits down. Finally she speaks in an exhausted whisper, slumped over, elbows on her knees.

“So you lost him? He got away? Oh no… Now what do we do?”

===========================================================
Narrator
———————————————————–
Talin returned about an hour later.

“I got the girl home. She was really shook up.”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
When Talin came in, Vogh was just about to explain what their next move was.  Oh great, Thank you for doing that.  The two youth are in custody as well.

So Ilsandrin, nothing changes for us.  We just keep doing what we were doing before.  The man knows now that others are after him so he will most likely be a little more cautious with his actions.  I think we may need to set a trap for him next.  When is your next performance?

===========================================================
Ilsandrin
———————————————————–
“I don’t perform again until the first day of next week. So we have a few days.”

===========================================================
Vogh
———————————————————–
Okay, that is good, we can talk more about it once we are back at your apartment.  Vogh said.

Talin will you come with tonight?  Or if you have to go to the Minstrel I understand.  If you can come back to the apartment after I would love to have you there.  She leaned in to the Tall man and gave him a kiss.

===========================================================
Talin
———————————————————–
“Of course. I’ll run my set at the minstrel and come straight over. I’ll even try to leave a little early. The drunks shouldn’t notice.”

===========================================================
Narrator

With that, Talin departed the theater and rushed across the way to Delver’s Square.

Vogh and Ilsandrin made it uneventfully back to her apartment.
